Paintings: Acrylic on Canvas
A walk in my world is not a concrete reality. ” Sculpture
|
I see my painting as form that corresponds fully to the nature of the canvas and that will work as a natural, visually interesting organism in its own right, without reference to anything outside itself. The ‘ object’ is manifest. Art to me is the mystical revelation of a cosmic order. It’s feeling the rhythm at the heart of the universe which echoes in the universal-eternal architecture of creative art, apprehending the infinite in the finite. My paintings and sculptures have a deep order. They are a thing apart from and beyond nature. That order is not merely composed of compositional elements but it has a dynamic value attained in terms of movement, plastic rhythm and tension.
My uniquely meaningful and powerful acrylic paintings and sculptures revolve or evolve around a central theme. There is an irreconcilable opposition of visual elements that results in perpetual movement on the picture surface. I employ distinct visual elements that result in a linear gestural style as well as a rectangular grid style of painting and sculpting. Though non-representational, the powerful element of artistic transformation in my work propels the viewer into a sense of deep space alternating with the surface plane. A walk in my world is not a concrete reality. One can readily see the influences of, Miro, Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Twombly in my paintings and sculptural works. The fun aspect, which I feel anyone can relate to, may be in the whimsical nature of the painting and sculpture. There’s nothing political, sexual or racial about it, aspects which are predominant in the media today. |
